Gajar Ka Achar : Carrot Pickle

Gajar ka achar

Ingredients

  • 1 Kg. Carrot
  • 1/2 Litre Chhachh (Butter Milk)
  • Rai Powder – 2 tablespoon
  • Salt – 2 Tbs.
  • Cumin (Jeera)
  • 1 Packet Roasted Achar Masala
  • Edible Mustard oil or Groundnut Oil

Preperation Method

Step 1

Wash and peel off carrots and cut them into small pieces or long slices

Step 2

Take 500 gm Chhach in a jar and mix Rai Powder and Salt to it.

Step 3

Immerse carrot pieces in Chhachh and cover the jar with a cotton cloth and keep aside for 2 days.

Step 4

Take out the carrot pieces from the Jar, wash them properly and let them dry.

Step 5

Heat adequate quantity of edible oil in a Kadhai/Pan and add some cumin seeds (Jeera) to it.

Step 6

Mix carrot pieces and a packet of Achar Masala to it and let the mixture cool down before putting it in a Jar.
